Crisis Response Team Member

We are hiring Crisis Response Team Members for our Outpatient Clinic location! 

Job Summary: Serve as a member of the CenterPointe Crisis Response Team. Provide support to individuals at the Outpatient Clinic, 24-hour facility, and in the community. Screen and assess individuals for safety on a walk-in basis, answer calls on the crisis line, and provide mobile crisis response with community providers addressing individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Coordinate with Lincoln Police Department to admit and/or triage to other appropriate service locations. Oversee health and safety of the environment and individuals. Offer resources and access to individuals seeking services related to mental health, substance use, or primary care services. Participate as an active member of the Crisis Response Team.

Essential Functions:

  1. Regularly attend scheduled shifts. No more than 8 unplanned absences per year (KPI).
  2. Conduct face to face contacts on a walk-in basis at the Outpatient Clinic.
  3. Answer the Crisis Response Hotline during business hours.
  4. Assist LPD, 988, Bryan Emergency Department (Adult and Youth), Child Advocacy Center, Cedars, and Nebraska Family Helpline with individuals experiencing mental health crisis by conducting mobile crisis response at locations outside of the facility.
  5. Follow-up with callers from the CenterPointe Crisis Response Line, walk-ins, and mobile crisis response contacts.
  6. Conduct intakes with individuals, which will include taking vitals, and monitor for withdrawal symptoms.
  7. Provide care coordination and support for individuals for up to 30 days.
  8. Demonstrate basic knowledge of substance use issues, mental health, family systems, parenting & life skills and coping skills, agency philosophy and programming, confidentiality, safety procedures, and crisis intervention.
  9. Complete, process, and maintain all required paperwork in a timely manner, including but not limited to intake documents, shift notes, crisis phone contacts, follow-up contacts, and outreach contacts. Crisis calls to be documented within 24 hours of call.
  10. Participate in weekly crisis team meetings and coaching with supervisor.
  11. Act as liaison and consult with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process. Participate in one outreach activity per month (KPI).
  12. Respond to internal and external individuals in crisis and make appropriate interventions.
  13. Provide on call crisis intervention on a rotating schedule, including evening, weekend, and holiday hours as scheduled.
  14. Complete other duties as assigned by Crisis Response Program Director.

  6. Attend 8 All Staff Meetings annually (KPI)
  7. Maintain compliance with licensure by acquiring appropriate CEU's (KPI)
  8. Participate in assigned committee(s); regularly attends committee meetings.

Required Skills/Physical abilities:

  1. Effective listening. Excellent written and verbal communication (KPI).
  2. Promptness and flexibility. No more than 5 minutes late for start of shift (KPI).
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of substance and mental health issues.
  4. Works cooperatively with others (KPI).

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent
  2. Two or more years' education in the Behavioral Health Field. Bachelor's Degree Social Work, Psychology or related field preferred.
  3. Experience responding to crisis situations
  4. Experience working with persons from diverse backgrounds.
  5. May consider individuals with lived experience and 2 or more years of experience working in the Behavioral Health field.

Licensing or other requirements:

  1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  2. Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMV record.
